Sophion Bioscience A/S, Denmark, is the world's earliest professional fully automatic patch clamp production enterprise. The company's R&D headquarters are located in Copenhagen, Denmark, and has branches and agency offices in more than 20 countries and regions around the world. Sophion provides fully automated patch clamp tools suitable for different research needs, mainly including QPatch and Qube series, which are widely used in multiple fields such as ion channel target drug development, basic research, and preclinical cardiac safety evaluation of drugs.

At present, Sophion's users have spread to multiple countries and regions around the world, and the world's top drug discovery enterprises, large CRO companies, and top universities are all equipped with Sophion's high-throughput fully automatic patch clamp system. After nearly 20 years of technological development and over 10 years of experience in the China market, Sophion's products have been widely recognized by domestic enterprises and universities. We have officially established a wholly-owned company in Shanghai in July 2022. In order to better serve our users and explore the China market, we are currently seeking the following positions to be based in our office in Shanghai, China:

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION: Primarily responsible for Sophion Bioscience, Inc.’s APC system (QPatch and Qube 384) service operations within China mainland.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Perform product installations and training

- Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions.

- Execute Preventative Maintenance (PM) service

- Respond to service calls and provide routine technical support and troubleshooting

- Maintain close communication with the service team at the headquarters in Denmark, develop and implement local service SOPs, and ensure that service processes and quality are highly consistent with Sophion DK.

QUALIFICATIONS：
任職資格：
- Good English skills
- 良好的英語技能
- Bachelor degree in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering or similar fields preferred

- 2-5 years of work experience in a life science or medical instrument company, with solid experience in repairing large automation instrument preferred

- Engineering service for automated patch-clamp system or pipetting robot (ideal)

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION: As an Application Scientist at Sophion, you will encounter interesting challenges of technical and application character of nearly all known ion-channels. You will be challenged with the very fundamentals of patch-clamping as well as collaborating with the best electrophysiologists in both industry and academic laboratories.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Be the customers voice in development work (design and perform experiments, report requests from customers, prioritize feature requests, functionality and usability requirements etc.)

- Perform customer-specified tests/analysis

- Assist in optimizations of cell lines for automated patch clamp

- Participate in the installation and test of QPatch and Qube systems at customer sites in China

- Visit customer together with Sales and provide pre-sales support with demos and customer presentations

- Perform in-house and onsite training of users

- Work to help solve customer instrument issues in conjunction with the FSE when required

- Interpret, plan, and implement customer defined applicaitons

- Travel to customer meetings, tradeshows, and relevant scientific meetings, and give talk as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:
 任職資格：
- Graduate degree (PhD preferred) with biology, pharmacology, medicine or similar field with a solid theoretical foundation and experience within electrophysiology
- 生物學、藥理學、醫學或類似領域的研究生學位（博士學位優先），具有扎實的電生理學理論基礎和實踐經驗
- Previous experience with patch clamp is required, and compound screening experience in the drug discovery process is an advantage
- 需要有膜片鉗操作或應用的經驗，最好有在制藥或CRO公司從事過化合物篩選的經驗
- Knowledge of the drug discovery process from high throughput screening (384-format) to lead optimization and safety assessment on ion channels is also a plus

- able to communicate fluently in English and have excellent communication and
presentation skills in front of an audience
